Sri. Janardhana Sawamy temple in Ujire is one of the most famous temples in South kanara with a rich history of more than 800 years. The bramhakalashotsava, which took place between the 1st and the 7th of this month, it is said, takes place once in a blue moon, to take the most literal meaning of the word.
